If you're a Windows user, you probably have Windows Movie Maker pre-installed on the computer. So, it is also a good choice for you to trim your MP3 files without any other software installation again. Cutting an MP3 with Windows Movie Maker only needs 3 simple steps and here is how:
Trimming the Movie To trim our movie, select where you want to trim from. Hold SHIFT and click the audio then control/click and choose split clip. Now just select what you want to delete, and press delete. IMovie: Set where sound or music starts and ends, Pin background music to a video frame, Extend a video clip’s audio over the next clip. This is easy to do. You select the range you want to reduce the volume of by pressing 'r' and dragging the mouse across the desired region of the clip. You then drag the black volume level down to the desired level. Fades are automatically added at each end but these can be adjusted using the little yellow diamonds. To trim your clips, you need to tap on each one individually. When the yellow highlight appears, hold the clip’s edges on either side and drag the edge to trim your video. This way, you can shorten or lengthen the duration of a clip or delete parts of the videos you included in your project. You can also change the position your clips appear in.
1. Add MP3 music file. Launch Windows Movie Maker program first and then click the 'Add Music' option to import an MP3 file you want to trim;

2. Trim MP3 file. Right click on the audio file and choose 'add to Timeline', or just drag the file to the Timeline. Set the start trim point and end trim point by dragging the cursor;
3. If you're satisfied with it, save the trimmed audio in .wma format; if not, redo it again.

In this tutorial, I’m going to use Apple’s highly appreciable video editing app “iMovie” as it gets the work done easily. So, ensure that you’ve already installed the app on your device. The app is available for free and requires iOS 11.4 or later.
Step #1. Launch Photos app on your iOS device.
Step #2. Now, open the video which audio you wish to mute.
Step #3. Next, Tap on Edit, tap on the tiny more button (three dots inside a circle) at the bottom.

Step #4. Up next, tap on iMovie. If you are using iMovie for the first time, the app will ask you to let it access your media library. Just tap on OK.
Note: If you there is no iMovie option, tap on More → Turn on the switch next to iMovie and hit Done to confirm.
Step #5. Check out the audio button, tap on it to mute the video sound. Make sure to tap on Done at the top right to confirm the change.
